Saturday in the Studio

October 19, 2013

Oh the possibilities....

I'm gearing up for the upcoming holidays, so I laid out all the gemstones I need to make into earrings and necklace ASAP last night (this new table I added to the studio last month is really coming in handy!).

I keep my gemstones stored in little plastic containers sorted by color with pendants and larger matched pairs separated from rondelles, rounds and singles.  Although it keeps things organized, its really easy to forget what gemstones I have.  I was pretty shocked when I laid everything out!  Just to give you an idea of what is on the table - garnet, ametrine, quartz, chalcedony, geodes, moss amethyst, pink amethyst, pendants cut from vintage china plates, tourmaline, mother of pearl, tigers eye drop set with white topaz, coral, citrine, pearl set with a pink amethyst, green amethyst, chrysocolla, green onyx, ruby, emerald, amber nuggets in 3 colors, magnesite, turquoise, moss agate, and much more.

I've spent most of the morning wrapping up the turquoise pairs, the last of my Sonoran Sunrise pairs, more blood red quartz in the Hadley style, and a lovely emerald green onyx and gold necklace. Oh, I also finished up a pair of custom earrings this morning...busy, busy, busy!  As soon as I post this, I'll be working with 3 pairs of elongated jasper drops for Peyton earrings.

I hope you'll stop by next week to see the new pieces!
